This little treasure is set in the grounds of the Museum of Outdoor Arts (MOA) which is well worth a trip. The guided tour MOA and the Cabinet of Curiosities are available on www.moaonline.org. The tour includes a tour of the outside sculptures and is often hosted by a family member of the owner (who also owns the Fiddler's Green Ampitheater. )

MOA was founded in 1981 by developer John W. Madden, Jr., Marjorie Madden and daughter Cynthia Madden Leitner, the Museum of Outdoor Arts is a synthesis of fine art, architecture and landscape design integrated into the community and business environment. It is fully accessible to the public, exemplifying the belief that “art is a part of everyday life.”

A little treasure is a good way to describe what you will see. There is first the smallness of the room but then the minute objects which you will find inside. Layered on top, the miniature objects have a childlike theme - they are based on fairy tales and children's rhymes. The complete effect is as though you have returned to a place which felt familiar as a child but now you are much larger and older. The smallness of the exhibits and the area of containment makes the exploration of the room an adventure almost a return to childhood.

These shells are the collection of co-founder Marjorie Madden after whom the park was named.
Below is the "Keeper's of Mandala" glass doors designed by Lonnie Hanzon a Colorado based artist. The books and hole inside are a representation of the entrance Alice in Wonderland took to enter Wonderland.

The visual art element is one of the ways in which the Cabinet uses modern elements - to overlap and compliment the older items. Many of the exhibits are of video content as you can see in these photos. Music and sound effects are also part of the show.

MOA hosts integrated arts performances, temporary art installations and special events as part of its commitment to the visual and performing arts as an indispensable part of community life. Greenwood Plaza in Greenwood Village continues to be a prime showcase for the Museum’s collection. Also located in Greenwood Plaza is MOA’s Marjorie Park, which is a large sculpture park and events venue and acts as ingress and egress to Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre, which the organization founded. The amphitheatre is also owned by MOA and is operated through a partnership with AEG Presents.
